Current probes detect the current flowing through a conductor and convert it into a voltage that can be seen and measured on an oscilloscope. Current probes use a hybrid technology that includes Hall effect sensors (sensing DC current) and current transformers (sensing AC current). The open design current probes are easily connected and disconnected from conductors, providing measurement bandwidths from DC to 100 MHz.
