Oscilloscope probes in home appliance power supply design industry solutions
The power supply design of home appliances is a key element to ensure their stable operation and user safety. In the power supply design process, the power supply needs to meet the high power, high efficiency and other technical indicators. Therefore, signal testing of power supplies is particularly important. In this article, we will show the industry solutions in the field of power supply design for home appliances with practical cases.
Case Overview
A leading enterprise in the home appliance industry, in a recent project case, need to design a home appliance water pump power supply. This power supply is characterized by transient high power and high efficiency. In the face of the user's frequent use of the scene, transient power up to 2KW, need to ensure that the power supply in a variety of working conditions can be stable and reliable output. At the same time, in terms of high-efficiency power supply design, the performance of switching tubes and driving circuits is crucial, and their loss characteristics directly determine the efficiency, which is a key indicator for evaluating the high-efficiency performance of power supplies.
Customer Demand Analysis
When manufacturing power supplies for home appliances, the main challenge faced by customers is how to ensure the current and voltage stability of high-power devices. In addition, with the development of intelligent home appliances, the design requirements for high-efficiency power supply circuits are increasing.
The design of such power supplies requires attention to two important indicators: first, the power supply efficiency, calculated as the output power divided by the input power. In order to accurately measure the efficiency of the power supply, it is necessary to test the power supply at multiple operating points, including light load, half-load and full-load states. Under each operating point, by measuring the input voltage, input current, output voltage and output current, the corresponding input power and output power can be calculated, which in turn leads to the efficiency value under that operating point. Therefore, measuring these parameters is critical to assessing the performance of a power supply.
Secondly, during the power supply design process, the dynamic parameters and electrical characteristics of the typical circuit IGBT switching tubes are crucial, and professional equipment is required to measure the voltage waveforms (VDS) on both sides of the switching tubes. Especially when the switching tube is in the on and off process, the voltage may be in the high voltage range. Test equipment needs to be highly accurate to capture and analyze power signals to ensure product performance and stability.
Solutions
We offer the following solutions to meet our customers' needs:
High Voltage Differential Probes: Used to accurately measure the voltage waveform (VDS) across the switching tube to ensure accurate test results.
AC/DC Current Probe: Used to monitor the AC current of the input power supply in real time to evaluate the stability and efficiency of the power supply.
Test Program
Device under test: power supply circuit boards for home appliances
Test Points: Voltage waveform (VDS) at both ends of the switching tube and AC current of 220V input power supply
During the test, we are able to accurately assess the performance and stability of the power supply by monitoring the current and voltage waveforms in real time, providing customers with reliable test data and optimization suggestions.
